CLAPS SOCIETYSmall actions. Big change.

About CLAPS Society

People-powered change starts here.

CLAPS Society is a community organisation built on a simple belief: the people closest to a problem are closest to its solution. We work alongside neighbourhoods rather than arriving with ready-made answers.

About CLAPS Society

Who we are

CLAPS Society is a community organisation built on a simple belief: the people closest to a problem are closest to its solution. We work alongside neighbourhoods rather than arriving with ready-made answers.

Our mission
To bring people together around practical action that expands opportunity, strengthens communities and protects the environment we share.
Our vision
Communities where every person has the support, opportunity and dignity they need to build the life they choose.
Why we exist
Too much goodwill never becomes action because people do not know where to start. CLAPS Society exists to close that gap — turning willingness into organised, accountable work that a community can see and measure.

Our approach

Three commitments we hold ourselves to

They are easy to state and harder to keep, which is why we publish them.

  1. Community-led programmes

Every programme starts with a conversation, not a plan. The people living with a problem set the priorities; we bring organisation, volunteers and follow-through.

  2. Transparent and measurable impact

We publish our registrations, our numbers and how contributions are used. Where a figure is provisional we say so, rather than rounding it up quietly.

  3. Partnerships that multiply change

Schools, local businesses, resident groups and other organisations let a small effort reach much further than it could alone.

Our values

What guides the work

Four principles that decide how we behave when a choice is difficult.

  • Community-led

Programmes are shaped with the people they serve, not designed for them from a distance.

  • Transparent

We publish our registrations, our numbers and how contributions are used.

  • Practical

We favour work that can start this month over plans that impress on paper.

  • Dignity first

Support is offered as a right and a partnership, never as a favour.

The organisational description, mission and vision on this page are working drafts. They will be replaced with CLAPS Society’s officially approved wording before launch.
