Terms

The terms on which this website is provided, and on which donations are accepted.

Last updated: This draft

Draft for review. This policy is a working template written for the CLAPS Society website. It must be reviewed and adapted to the organisation’s actual practices — and checked by a qualified adviser — before the site goes live.
  1. 1.Using this website

This website is provided by CLAPS Society for information about our work and to let supporters get involved. By using it you agree to use it lawfully and not to interfere with its operation or security.

  2. 2.Accuracy of content

We take care that what we publish is accurate. Where a figure or a credential is still provisional, it is labelled as such on the page rather than presented as confirmed. If you find something that looks wrong, please tell us and we will correct it.

  3. 3.Donations

A donation is a voluntary contribution. It is treated as received only when our payment gateway confirms it — a submitted form or a closed browser tab is not a donation, and nothing on this site should be read as confirming a payment the gateway has not.

Unless a specific programme is agreed with our team in writing, donations go to the general fund and are applied wherever the need is greatest, including the running costs that keep programmes going.

  4. 4.Refunds

Donations are not normally refundable. If a payment was made in error, or made twice, contact us promptly with the reference number and we will review it. Where a refund is agreed it is returned to the original payment method, and any receipt issued for that donation is withdrawn.

  5. 5.Receipts and tax treatment

A receipt is issued for every donation the gateway confirms. Whether a donation attracts any deduction under Section 80G depends on CLAPS Society holding a valid approval, on the applicable category, and on the donor’s own circumstances and tax position.

Nothing on this website is tax advice, and we make no guarantee about any deduction, refund or tax outcome. Cash donations exceeding ₹2,000 do not qualify for the Section 80G deduction. Please consult a qualified tax professional about your own position — see our tax benefits page for what currently applies.

  6. 6.Payments

Payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway under its own terms. We do not receive or store your payment credentials. Any dispute about a payment transaction may involve that provider as well as us.

  7. 7.Volunteering and partnerships

Submitting a volunteer application or a partnership enquiry does not create an agreement. Volunteering arrangements, including any checks appropriate to work with children or vulnerable people, are agreed separately.

  8. 8.Intellectual property

The content, design and illustrations on this site belong to CLAPS Society unless stated otherwise. You may share and quote our material with attribution; please ask before using it commercially.

  9. 9.Liability

We provide this website in good faith and do not accept liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

  10. 10.Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions can be sent through our contact page.
