Tax-benefit donations

Give With Purpose. Get Eligible Tax Benefits.

Support CLAPS Society’s mission and, where applicable, claim the tax deduction available under Section 80G and prevailing Income Tax rules.

CLAPS Society’s Section 80G approval is not published on this site yet.

Until the approval order is on file and published, this page describes what would apply if approval is in force — it is not a statement that a deduction can be claimed on a donation made today. Please ask us before giving if the tax treatment matters to your decision.

What a Section 80G deduction actually means

If CLAPS Society is approved under Section 80G, eligible donors may be able to claim a tax deduction on qualifying donations, subject to applicable Income Tax rules. The actual benefit depends on the donor’s circumstances and the applicable rules.

It reduces taxable income

A deduction is subtracted from the income you are taxed on — it is not a refund, and not a reduction of your tax bill by the same amount.

Not every donation qualifies

The deduction depends on the donee being registered and approved under the applicable Section 80G requirements, and on the donation itself qualifying.

The category sets the rate

Approved institutions fall into different categories — some at 50%, some at 100%, some subject to a qualifying limit. Ours must come from our own approval order.

CLAPS Society’s approved 80G category has not been published on this site yet, so no percentage is pre-selected. Anything you choose here is a what-if.

Used only to apply the qualifying limit, which caps the qualifying donation at 10% of gross total income where that limit applies. Nothing you type here is sent anywhere — the calculation runs entirely in your browser.

Hypothetical figures. CLAPS Society’s 80G approval and category are not published on this site yet, so this calculation shows what a deduction would look like — not what you can claim today.

Important: a deduction reduces your taxable income. It does not mean your tax payable falls by the same amount.

Know before you donate

Who can claim?

Eligible donors who make qualifying donations to an institution or fund that is registered and approved under the applicable Section 80G requirements may be entitled to a deduction.

The Income Tax Department notes that not every charitable donation qualifies. Donors should verify the donee’s 80G eligibility and the applicable deduction category before assuming any particular treatment.

Pay digitally

Cash donations exceeding ₹2,000 do not qualify for the Section 80G deduction. UPI, card, net banking and bank transfer all leave the record a claim needs.

Keep your receipt

Every gateway-confirmed donation generates a receipt carrying the details a claim requires. Give us your PAN at checkout if you intend to claim.

What we will never tell you: that a donation makes your tax zero, guarantees a refund, or guarantees a deduction. Any deduction is subject to applicable law and to your own eligibility, and we would rather say so plainly than sell you a number we cannot stand behind.

Your receipt

What a CLAPS Society donation receipt contains

Issued once the payment gateway confirms the donation — never before.

Receipts are numbered sequentially per financial year and record the organisation’s details as they stood at the moment of issue, so a later change to our registration data can never rewrite a receipt you already hold.

While the site runs in demonstration mode, no receipt can be issued — a simulated donation is not a donation.

CSR & corporate giving

Companies looking to support community development can connect with CLAPS Society to discuss eligible partnerships and charitable contributions.

CSR partnership

A larger donation does not automatically attract any particular tax treatment. CSR eligibility depends on our CSR-1 registration and on the contributing company’s own obligations — both will be confirmed from official documents before any claim about them appears on this site.
